Tuesday 16th January 2024 - Northern Lights Trip - Day 4
Todays forecast was quite complex in the fact skies would be clear for our 2nd Fjord Photographic trip during the day but extensive Mid and High cloud would spill into most of the Arctic in the evening. The outlook for tomorrow night though was looking clear for our last night. So we set off west and this time dropped South towards Malangen and a new Island to explore. This was a 3 hour circular route with lots of stopping points and what made today great was there were enough clouds to make the skies interesting around Sunset at 2pm.
After heading through a Mountain Pass we also got the chance to photograph rime frost as the temperatures dipped briefly to -21c in places before rising to -11c nearer to the waters edge as we headed back down the other side of the Mountain.
This really was a beautiful day for photography and clouds were already starting to fill the sky so we knew tonight was looking like a night in but after the beautiful skies today and yesterday evenings Lights everybody was thankful for an early night as we had an early start for the Dog Sledding tomorrow down near Moen!
Some Pictures from today.
